Pharmaceutical Companies Lead Fight Against Staph And Other Infectious Diseases

A new report released by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) finds that America's pharmaceutical research companies are now testing 338 new medicines to help treat infectious diseases, including 11 medicines and four vaccines to treat staphococcal infections. In addition to healthcare associated infections, MRSA can also infect people in the community at large, generally as skin infections that look like pimples or boils and can be swollen, painful and have draining pus. These skin infections often occur in otherwise healthy people.
